Califariel Graphics incorporates only the most efficient design techniques when creating a metaphor for your business. The look should be clean; the graphics should enhance the site, not overpower it; the navigation should make sense.
We recognize that you want to reach the widest audience - therefore we design the site to fit most OS's(operating systems), taking into account that the average web surfer's computer (be it PC or Mac); we design for the most limiting monitor size (14"), screen resolution (640x480), and color palette (216 - Netscape color palette).
This way, you can be sure that you are reaching a broader audience by not excluding lower-end client desktop setups.
The time it takes to download your site is a serious concern, despite strides being made to improve individual Internet connections via cable, wireless, and ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line). It's not uncommon to lose the average web surfer's attention by inundating them with huge graphics, multimedia files, plugins, and sound effects that do not serve any purpose.
The rule of thumb is: It should take no longer than 15 seconds to introduce the site to your potential customer, or risk losing them to another site.
The business at hand
We use the following approach to implement a web site:
- We consult with you to establish the goal or objective of having a web site, and we help you determine a strategy for creating the site.
- After initial consultation, we prepare the preliminary design & layout, at which time we'll request any logos or graphics that you wish to include. We'll provide a flow-chart to easily see the how the site will be constructed, according to your specifications.
- We'll also use the initial consultation to determine what types of web site hosting arrangements you will need, i.e., which Internet hosting service will work best for your business application.
- Once you approve of the preliminary site design and choose a hosting company, we assemble a quote (cost/time line) for the entire project, based on the services that you request.
- Once the quoted price is agreed upon, we take this time to gather any and all information, graphics, etc. which haven't already been obtained previously.
- We build the site to your specifications and in the agreed upon time frame that we established at the time of quote. We'll also provide you with status reports via e-mail, if so desired.
- Once the project is complete, we'll upload the site to our web server, allowing you to preview the work, suggest changes, and if you approve of the finished work, we'll install the site to your web server.
- Finally, if you indicated that you wanted the service, we'll promote your site through various search engines and other site listings.
